Intuy® Knee

Intuy® Knee

Simple. Powerful. Intuitive.

Autoadaptive control – adapts to you, not the other way around.

The Intuy Knee features microprocessor control which is based on a large number of sensors within the joint. Changes in movement are detected in real time by the joint and then processed via artificial intelligence. The Intuy Knee is able to actively replace missing muscle activity.

Different from passive electronic joints, this joint not only offers control of the joint, but rather motor-driven, autoadaptive motion support.

Benefits of the Intuy Knee

Different from passive electronic joints, this joint not only offers control of the joint, but rather motor-driven, auto-adaptive motion support.

This results in significant benefits for the user:

  • Active extension of the knee - support when standing up
  • Active cushioning of the knee - support when sitting down
  • Active lifting of the lower leg - for alternate climbing the stairs
  • Active trip detection and adjustable ground clearance – for exceptional safety and more reliable movements
  • More power for longer walking distances and less strain on your back, spine, and other joints
Test fitting (Germany only)

Test fittings with the Intuy Knee can be carried out in one day with the support of our sales force. If the loaner is required over a longer period of 1-2 weeks for a test fitting, this is also possible against payment of a rental fee.

The documentation of the test fitting is ensured by means of a technician questionnaire and subsequently serves to support application for submitting the cost coverage to the health insurance company.

Workshops / Certification
Intuy Knee Anwendung Seminare Icon 1 177x114 EN

Description

This workshop is specially designed for Orthopaedic technicians and serves as the necessary certification training for implementing medical support with the knee joint.

The alignment and the required settings of the electronic knee joint are covered in detail in the theoretical part. Followed by demonstrations directly on the user and put into practice by the participants. The 2-day workshop focuses on static and dynamic fitting in practical implementation.

The certification seminar for the Intuy Knee takes place at our premises in Wangen. At the beginning, the focus is on the theory and practicing of setting up the Intuy Knee.
After a special user training session follows another practical implementation to repeat all the important details. You will then be authorized to carry out fittings with the Intuy Knee independently.

From a residual limb length of approx. 8 cm, all functions can be used to its full extent.

Is it possible to support bilateral amputees with the Intuy Knee?
Basically yes, possibly with some restrictions.

How is the force sensor calibrated?
Take the weight off the prosthetic leg for calibration and then press the button “Calibrate force sensor”; it does not matter whether the user is standing or sitting.

Is the lower leg length measured with or without a shoe?
The lower leg length in cm is the vertical distance between the knee pivot point and the ground level, including a shoe.

Are there any restrictions on the selection of components?
No, there are no restrictions on components. However, feet with articulated movement in plantar and dorsal flexion are not suitable.

How do I change setting for more resistance when walking downstairs?
The resistance force must be set properly for both sitting down and walking downstairs. Above all, it is important that the user puts enough weight on the prosthesis. This also activates the resistance force.
